This will be a tough day because we will have a steep ascent to Ulleri that will include the longest set of stairs you have ever done (probably laying in excess of 3,000 steps). Once at Ulleri, it is a gentle uphill trek through dense forest, rhododendron, and oak forests to the village of Ghorepani, where we have views of the great mountains. Ghorepani is a very popular village where all climbs to Poon Hill begin.
Day 4: Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani(Elevation: 2,630m / 8,935ft, Trek Approx: 6 hours)
We will begin our day with an early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,531ft) to watch the stunning sunrise over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After reveling in the stunning views, we will trek downhill through slot canyons, waterfalls, and forests to Tadapani.
Day 5: Tadapani to Chomrong (Elevation: 2,170m / 7,120ft Trek Approx: 5 hours)
We will leave and descend into the Modi Khola river valley. After crossing a small bridge, we start the steep ascent up to Chomrong, the gateway of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Chomrong will give you panoramic views of the mountains and be received with the warm hospitality of the village.
Day 6: Chomrong to Bamboo (Elevation: 2,310m / 7,585ft Trek Approx: 5 hours)
After leaving Chomrong, we will descend towards the suspension bridges that cross the Modi Khola a few times. We will trek through bamboo and rhododendron forests until we arrive at the hamlet and village of Bamboo, surrounded by thick vegetation and forest.
Day 7: Bamboo to Deurali (Elevation 3,200m / 10,498 Trek Approx: 5 to 6 hours)
After we leave Bamboo, we will have a steep climb through dense forests and alpine meadows across stone steps and narrow trails. We will arrive at Deurali (a base before you continue onto the higher elevations of the Annapurna Sanctuary).
Day 9: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (Altitude: 2,310m, Approx. 7 hr Trek)
